Migration of the Department in Charge of Foreigners, Nationality, and Immigration Affairs
The City Council of Our City has announced that the Department of Central Immigration Office, Citizenship and Immigration Affairs will be moving to a new location at Kruppstraße 16. The decision to rent the building complex was made in June 2023, and the move is scheduled to take place at the end of 2025.
The new location spans over 17,300 square meters and offers space for a total of 453 employees. The move aims to centralize all departments to create synergies and improve services.
The Municipal Immigration Office and the Administrative Department will gradually move into the new premises from mid-May. Partial operations of these departments have already started, with the Municipal Immigration Office and the Administrative Department operating from the new location from mid-May.
From May 22, 2025, the Department of Citizenship and Emigration Affairs of the Central Emigration Authority will be received at the service building at Kruppstraße 16. The Department aims to create an appealing atmosphere for visitors at the new location. A future-oriented location is being created with a powerful IT infrastructure, modern waiting areas, WLAN hotspots, call monitors, and self-service terminals.
The processing of matters will continue at Schederhofstraße 45 or Cathostraße 5 until the complete move of the immigration office. The Department of Central Immigration Office, Citizenship and Immigration Affairs will start operating partially from the new location at Kruppstraße 16 from 22nd May. The complete move of the immigration office to Kruppstraße 16 is yet to be finalized.
