In a recent statement to the Funke media group's newspapers, Federal Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger voiced his concern over the current patchwork of different data protection rules in Germany.

Wildberger, a member of the CDU party, has proposed initiatives to centralize services such as vehicle registration and deregistration. He has also suggested a bold move to centralize oversight of the currently 16 different data protection officers at the federal level.

The Minister's comments come amidst a growing need for standardization in Germany's digital administration. However, as of now, there are no available search results or publicly documented initiatives by Minister Wildberger regarding the centralization of oversight for the data protection officers or the definition of standards for digital administration.

Wildberger expressed his concern over the lack of large-scale digital business models in Germany, despite "absolute excellence" in research. He believes that Germany is not using its talents enough in digital business and that the federal government should provide platform solutions that include artificial intelligence to reduce complexity and accelerate administrative action.

The Minister also highlighted the complexity and risk-based nature of the current data protection regulations, stating that data security and privacy protection must be guaranteed, but the current regulation is "very risk-based and complex."

In a bid to prevent "wild growth" in digitization, Wildberger wants to set more standards for the digitization of administration in the future. His goal is to create a more streamlined and efficient system that will benefit both businesses and citizens alike.

As the digital landscape continues to evolve, Minister Wildberger's proposals for centralization and standardization are likely to spark discussions and debates in Germany's political and business circles.
