Mintrope's Garden Party: Brimming with Radiance and Celebration

In the heart of Essen, the Mintrop Hotel, a beacon of hospitality and a testament to the city's charm, celebrated its 55-year anniversary with a grand summer festival. The event, filled with music, food, and fun, was a celebration not just for the hotel, but for the city and its people as well.

Mayor Thomas Kufen graced the occasion, praising the Mintrop Hotel for its significant contribution to Essen's special events for five and a half decades. "Essen is always a special event, and a trip here is always worthwhile," he said, emphasising the city's appeal.

The festivities began with the quartet club "Frohsinn" serenading the crowd with a selection of traditional tunes. The stage program then transitioned to the band of Sir Jesse Lee Davis, fronted by the captivating Daisiana Lekatompessy, who enthralled the audience with their soulful melodies.

The choir's second performance showcased a mix of modern songs, including "Das ist dein Tag" (Udo Jürgens), "Das verlorene Paradies" (Schürzenjäger), "Ich war noch niemals in New York", and "Schenk mir noch eine Stunde" (Udo Jürgens). The performances were masterfully moderated by Peter de Bake.

Meanwhile, tractor rides and a bouncy castle provided entertainment for the younger visitors. Food stands offered a variety of grilled delights and cold drinks, ensuring everyone had a satisfying experience.

Moritz Mintrop, the hotel's host, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, recounting the transformation of the Mintrop family's farmstead into the modern 4-star hotel it is today. He also took the opportunity to express gratitude to his parents, Maria and Harald Mintrop, and the entire hotel team.

District Mayor Wilhelm Kohlmann conveyed greetings from the district council, and Mayoral candidate Julia Klewin also delivered her well-wishes during the festival. The day was described as truly magical, a fitting tribute to the Mintrop Hotel's enduring legacy.

Even as the festival concluded, the Mintrop Hotel stood as an ambassador of Essen beyond the city limits, a testament to the city's spirit and charm. The hotel continues to make a significant contribution to Essen's special events, ensuring that the city remains a destination worth visiting.
