Misfortune Prevails: LPI-J's Unlucky Day
In a series of unfortunate events, a 61-year-old bus driver was involved in two separate accidents on county road 512 between Daasdorf a. Berge and Ottstedt a. Berge on Tuesday morning.
The first accident occurred in a straight stretch of the road, while the second accident took place in a left curve on the same stretch. The incidents were reported by the Jena State Police Inspectorate, who are currently investigating the causes and circumstances of the accidents.
In the first accident, the driver's side mirror of the bus collided with an unknown van that did not drive as far to the right as possible. The driver of the van fled the scene after the accident. The bus was handed over to a relief driver at the scene after the first accident, but the driver continued with another bus before the second accident occurred.
Two hours after the first accident, the same bus driver was involved in a second accident on the same stretch of road. In the second accident, the driver's side mirror collided with another van, and the other driver also escaped undetected.
At this time, the police have not made any arrests in connection with the two accidents on county road 512. The identity of the unknown persons who caused both traffic accidents on Ländestraße 512 is not publicly disclosed.
