In the picturesque Hallertau region, a new initiative is set to enrich the local culture and attract both residents and tourists. The LEADER project, aptly named "The Digital Hallertau Experience," received official approval on June 12, 2025. This project, a collaborative effort between four local action groups, aims to create four digital audio tours that will make the region's culture, tradition, history, and hop cultivation more accessible and engaging.

The project, which is part of the larger LEADER project "Die digitale Hallertau-Erlebnisse," is supported by the European funding program LEADER with a total of 30,432 euros. Tina Schuler, the manager of the lead LAG Landkreis Pfaffenhofen, stated that a free recreational offer is being created.

Two digital city tours are planned for Wolnzach and Mainburg, offering visitors an immersive exploration of these historic towns. For those who prefer an active experience, two digital bike tours are also in the works. One tour will take cyclists from Rudelzhausen via Au i. d. Hallertau and Nandlstadt to Freising, while another will traverse the ILE Holledauer Tor area.

The audio tours are intended to make the Hallertau even more attractive and well-known. By enhancing, expanding, and reaching new target groups, the project aims to provide a unique and engaging way to experience the region. Agnes Stiglmaier and Tina Schuler handed over the approval notice to project leader Carolin Meinhold, marking a significant step forward in the creation of these innovative tours.

As the project progresses, more details about the specific digital city and bike tours will be revealed. Until then, the excitement builds as the Hallertau region prepares to offer a new and exciting way to explore its rich history and culture.
