Money was illegitimately moved to criminal hands by a woman, amounting to 20,000 dollars.
In a concerning turn of events, a woman from the town of Hennef has lost over 20,000 euros due to a cryptocurrency scam. The Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters is currently investigating this fraud case.
According to the police, the woman met the scammer on the internet who posed as a successful broker. The scammer promised high gains from investing in cryptocurrency, and the woman, believing the stranger, made several transactions, totaling over 20,000 euros.
However, the woman's bank froze her account due to suspicious activity, which led her to realise the scam. The police are now investigating an unknown person for fraud in connection with this case.
The police have not disclosed the name of the suspect under investigation, only providing a vague description of a male suspect about 25 to 30 years old and dark-skinned regarding one case in Nesselwang.
This incident serves as a stark reminder to be cautious when dealing with online investments. The police strongly advise against being blinded by promises of high profits on the internet. They encourage the public to research any warnings or complaints about providers or platforms before investing.
It is also crucial to check if there is a license from the financial market authority and to look for an imprint before investing. There is no such thing as quick money with very high chances of profit on the internet.
