Moscow's football player dies following tightened Supreme Court article on beatings

In the Moscow region town of Shchyolkovo, the investigation is underway into the tragic death of Arseniy Eroshevich, a player for the amateur football club "Russian Community Shchyolkovo."

The attack occurred near one of the houses in Shchyolkovo, with surveillance cameras recording a group of men assaulting Eroshevich. According to the footage, Eroshevich was struck in the jaw, fell, and hit his head on the asphalt, losing consciousness. The attackers continued to strike him until bystanders intervened.

Eroshevich was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, but unfortunately, he later passed away due to the injuries sustained during the attack.

Three suspects have been detained in connection with the attack on Eroshevich. The individuals involved in the death of Eroshevich include those involved in a local conflict, with some playing roles as rivals or aggressors in the dispute that led to the incident.

The criminal case regarding Eroshevich's death has been reclassified under Article 111, Part 4 of the Criminal Code. Investigators are working diligently to understand all circumstances of the incident and each participant's role in the conflict.

A decision on the suspects' pretrial detention is pending. The investigation into Eroshevich's case is being conducted by the Shchyolkovo branch of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region.
