Motorcycle accident in Drochtersen leaves 26-year-old rider critically injured, as reported by Polish authorities.
Accident on State Road 111 in Drochtersen Leaves Motorcyclist Critically Injured
Yesterday evening at approximately 22:45, a serious traffic accident took place on state road 111 in Drochtersen. The accident occurred on Ritscher Street and involved a motorcyclist on a Suzuki, who was traveling from Stade towards Drochtersen.
The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old resident of Balje, was reportedly attempting to overtake an agricultural vehicle and two following cars when the accident occurred. In the process, the motorcyclist collided with the front of a turning Massey Ferguson tractor, causing the driver to be thrown approximately 30 meters and sustain severe injuries.
The motorcyclist also sustained severe injuries in the accident. Both the motorcyclist and the tractor driver were initially treated by the Stader emergency doctor and rescue service. The motorcyclist was eventually flown to a Hamburg clinic by the crew of the rescue helicopter Christoph Niedersachsen from Hannover.
The tractor also sustained severe damage in the accident. The estimated material damage from the accident is approximately 40,000 euros.
The Assel fire department was alerted and responded to the scene, assisting the rescue service, illuminating the scene, and containing any leaking fluids. The state road 111 was fully closed for the duration of the rescue and recovery operations and the investigation of the accident.
The name of the accident victim who was seriously injured yesterday evening at 10:45 PM on Federal Highway 111 in Drochtersen is not publicly available.
