A series of traffic accidents and incidents occurred over the weekend in the Reutlingen region, affecting several towns including Wäschenbeuren, Bad Ditzenbach, Gosbach, Seeburg, Münsingen, Sonnenbühl, Reutlingen, Bonlanden, Böhningen, Metzingen, and Denkendorf.
On Sunday afternoon, a 17-year-old cyclist sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident on Bahnhofstraße in Reutlingen. The incident involved a collision with a 36-year-old driver's car. In another incident, two motorcyclists were injured in a traffic accident on the L245 near Seeburg.
In a separate accident on the K6903, a 13-year-old girl was lightly injured while riding an e-scooter. The girl and her mother sought medical attention after the accident.
Sadly, an 80-year-old woman died in a hiking accident near the Burgruine Rauber on Sunday morning.
On the K1405 near Wäschenbeuren, a motorcycle accident occurred, causing injuries, while on the B466 near Bad Ditzenbach, collisions were reported. Additional incidents in the broader area, including Münsingen and Sonnenbühl, were also reported on the previous day.
In Bonlanden, several vehicles in Hohe Straße were deliberately damaged, causing at least €12,000 in damage. A driver lost control of his vehicle in Metzingen on Sunday morning due to sun glare, resulting in minor injuries and around €4,000 in damage.
One motorcyclist had to be prohibited from further travel due to serious technical problems. Initial police investigations suggest that an 8-year-old boy on a two-wheeler lost control while exiting a right curve and entered the path of an oncoming cyclist in Metzingen, resulting in injuries.
Speeding was also a concern, with the top speeds recorded during speed measurement reaching 140 km/h by a car driver and 139 km/h by a motorcycle rider. Specialists from the traffic police in Tübingen checked motorcyclists on the B312 near Oberstetten on Sunday.
The Filderstadt police station is investigating a burglary at an inn on Wettenhalde Street in Denkendorf, where the criminal left an estimated €2,000 in property damage but nothing was stolen. The police headquarters in Reutlingen was a control point for motorcycles and speed measurement on Sunday.
Eight out of around 40 vehicles checked had defects or violations of various regulations. A traffic accident occurred in Böhningen on Sunday afternoon, involving a Seat Ateca and a Renault, resulting in two injured persons and around 20,000 euros in damage.
Two e-bike riders were injured in a traffic accident in Metzingen on Sunday afternoon. The police are still investigating the details of these incidents.
