Mount Ore Tragedy: Deceased Twins and Bunker Saga Continues

In the latest twist of the popular ZDF series, Investigator Karina Szabo (Lara Mandoki) is set to leave the Erzgebirgskrimi series to pursue new projects. Mandoki, who has been with the series since its inception in 2019, has cited lack of time for other projects as the reason for her departure.

The upcoming episodes will see Szabo investigating the mysterious deaths of a man from a construction site and Holger Berthold, who was found hanged in his house. However, Holger's death was not a suicide, as revealed in the autopsy; he had too much methyl alcohol in his blood to have hanged himself.

Inspector Winkler, who is assisting Szabo in the investigation, goes missing during the investigation, with help calls from a bunker suggesting that he is in distress. Inspector Winkler appears to be close to death in the episode.

Szabo continues the investigation without Winkler, with the support of forester Saskia Bergelt. The production company has not yet decided who will replace Szabo or if Bergelt and pathologist Kulikova will gain more weight in the series.

Meanwhile, the investigation leads the investigators back to the time before the fall of the Berlin Wall, as it is revealed that both the dead man from the construction site and Holger Berthold are identical twins who were stationed at the border to Czechoslovakia with several others during that time.

Elsewhere, the Cycling challenge Hamm 2025 is focusing on traffic change, aiming to make the event more sustainable and eco-friendly. Summer fun in Hamm has had a positive balance, with residents and visitors enjoying the warm weather and various activities.

In other news, new postal voting documents for the election of the Integration Council in Hamm have been released. Voters are encouraged to exercise their right to vote and have their voices heard in the upcoming election.

Tune in tonight at 8:15 PM for the new episode of the ZDF series, which takes on more drama as Szabo investigates these mysterious deaths. Don't miss it!
