Multiple individuals sustained injuries following a collision involving Lux Express bus.
On July 28, 2025, a Lux Express bus travelling from Tallinn to Pärnu was involved in a serious traffic accident. The incident occurred on the Tallinn-Pärnu-Ikla highway near Saue.
According to initial reports, the Lux Express bus collided with a truck that had stopped on the roadside. As a result, approximately 30 people were injured in the accident. Among these, 29 people required medical assistance or follow-up care, according to ambulance reports.
Rait Pikaro, operations chief at the Northern Prefecture, reported the accident to the police at 1:15 p.m. The police have since opened criminal proceedings to determine the cause of the accident. Lux Express CEO Ingmar Roos stated that there were 52 passengers on board the bus.
Roos expressed his apologies to all Lux Express passengers and other customers for the incident. He did not specify the cause of the accident, stating that it will be investigated together with the police. Passengers who incur medical or transport expenses, or suffer damage to clothing or luggage due to the accident, are advised to contact Lux Express for reimbursement.
Thirteen passengers continued their journey on a replacement bus sent by Lux Express. The bus driver did not require hospitalization, and both drivers were sober. Many people were taken to the hospital for examination or treatment.
The officer stated that traffic is heavily disrupted but still moving. The rest of the passengers continued with their own transport.
