Multiple vehicles sustained damages according to LPI-SHL report
A 61-year-old driver in Ummerstadt found himself in hot water on Tuesday evening, following an alleged drunk driving incident on Coburger Street. According to the Press Office of the State Police Inspectorate Suhl, the driver drifted onto the opposite lane and collided with a parked car, after which he fled the scene.
The driver was later located, thanks to a witness who provided crucial information to the police. Upon being apprehended, the driver submitted to a voluntary breathalyzer test, which reportedly showed a result of 3.21 per mille. Subsequently, he was required to provide a blood sample at a local hospital.
As a result of the incident, the driver surrendered his driver's license. The Thuringian Police are currently investigating the matter further and can be contacted for additional inquiries.
