In the picturesque Subbetic Sierra Natural Park, the small town of Cabra in Spain is preparing for a significant event. The annual 4 at 4 pilgrimage, which marks the 'Descent' of the Virgin of the Sierra, is taking place this year to celebrate its 20th anniversary since the Virgin's canonical coronation.

The pilgrimage, known for its reunions, songs, emotions, cheers, and prayer, begins early in the morning as thousands of pilgrims make their way from various locations towards the sanctuary's surroundings. Over 50 buses arranged by the Royal Archconfraternity of the Virgin of the Sierra facilitate the pilgrims' journey.

The main focus of the 4 at 4 event is the Virgin of the Sierra, who is traditionally 'Descended' from the Picacho of Écija during the pilgrimage. The litter, carrying the statue of the Virgin, will travel through the Colchones, Góngora, and the Aradillo neighborhoods before reaching the final stretch of the 'Descent'. This will take the litter to the church of the Assumption in the Villa neighborhood.

The Bishop of Córdoba, Jesús Fernández, presides over the official mass prior to the Virgin's departure, and he also leads the rosary that marks the final pace of the pilgrimage. A group of motorcyclists is following the steps of the Virgin of the Sierra up to the Viñuela estate path.

The pilgrims and spectators alike are reminded of the sick during the journey as the litter looks towards the Hospital Infanta Margarita. The air is pleasant with a gentle breeze and intervals of cloudiness, making the path more enjoyable. The path to the urban center is expected to be around 7:00 PM, and fireworks will certify the arrival of the Virgin of the Sierra in Cabra at the end of the 'Descent'.

The Cabra Town Hall has arranged an extensive security and traffic device for the event, ensuring the safety and smooth flow of the thousands of people participating in this traditional celebration. This year's 4 at 4 promises to be a memorable event, filled with faith, community, and tradition.
