Municipal Elections 2025: The Municipality Encourages Participants to Share the Voting Outcomes

On September 14, 2025, the city of Dormagen will hold its municipal election, with the race for the city council and mayoral positions taking centre stage. The candidates vying for the mayoral position include incumbent Erik Lierenfeld (SPD), Anissa Saysay (CDU), Torsten Günzel (FDP), René Jungbluth (Greens), Pierre Milbrath (UWG/FW), Ahmet Dogan (Independent), Nils Bergschneider (Die Partei), and Thomas Freitag (Zentrum). However, as of now, the candidate with the highest share of postal votes has not been explicitly stated in the search results.

As the polling stations close, citizens can follow the latest results live at the Kulle. The city administration has planned a public presentation of the election results at the Kulle at 6 pm on election night, where the results will be broadcast live on a large screen. The live stream of WDR will also be integrated into the presentation, providing updates from neighbouring communities.

On-site, leading candidates and party representatives will give short interviews and share their initial assessments of the results. For those unable to attend, the results can be tracked online via the city administration's website at www.ourwebsite.

As of Monday, September 1, 25.32% of the 50,584 eligible voters have already applied for postal voting. For the election of the Integration Council, 5% of the 14,908 eligible voters have applied for postal voting so far.

The Chief Election Officer and First Deputy Mayor Fritz Bezold has assured that the municipal election night in Dormagen will be transparent and engaging. Immediate reactions from politics will be heard at the Kulle on election night.

The election will not only determine the composition of the new city council and the new mayor but also the district council and county council elections will be part of the election. Citizens are encouraged to exercise their right to vote and stay informed about the latest developments in the election process.
