Museum City Lünen partakes in the open commemorative event
The Museum of the City of Lünen is set to participate in the nationwide "Day of Open Heritage" on September 13th and 14th, 2025. As part of this event, visitors will have the opportunity to explore Villa Urbahn, a protected monument since 2017, located within the museum premises at Graf-Adolf-Straße 36.
Villa Urbahn, designed by Anton Huber in 1925 for ophthalmologist Hermann Urbahn, has served as a residential and practice building over three generations. This historic villa will be open to the public for guided tours, which will start at 1 pm and 3 pm on both days. Each tour will last approximately 60 minutes.
In addition to the guided tours, the museum will also host a "Paint-Workshop" titled "What is priceless to me". This workshop will be open to children aged six and above, and they must be accompanied by a guardian. The "Paint-Workshop" sessions will take place on September 13th from 1 pm to 2.10 pm and from 3 pm to 4.10 pm, and on September 14th from 1 pm to 2.10 pm and from 3 pm to 4.10 pm. The paintings created during the workshop will be exhibited directly in the museum garden.
Admission to the Museum of the City of Lünen on these days will be based on the principle of "pay what you want". There is no need for registration for the "Paint-Workshop". Visitors are encouraged to visit the museum and Villa Urbahn at their convenience, as the museum will be open from 10 am to 6 pm on September 13th and 14th, 2025.
