Music Artist Skuth unveils his newest extended play titled "Panik"
In the chill of early 2025, skuth, the talented artist, found himself in an attic studio in Amsterdam, immersed in the creation of his latest EP, "Panik". This musical project, released later that year, marked a significant step forward for skuth compared to his previous EP, "Maybe".
"Panik" is a collection of six shimmering, flickering, and close-to-tears songs that explore moments when the heart beats too loudly and the mind can't keep up. The songs delve into the themes of people who throw you off track, feelings that come too fast, get too close, and seem too big.
The tempo in "Panik" is higher, and the productions are more open, creating a sense of energy and movement that contrasts sharply with the outside temperature during the recording, which was a frosty minus 20 degrees. One of the songs was initiated at a piano, but the creation of the songs was largely spontaneous, driven by gut feeling rather than concept or calculation.
Skuth remembers a sense of irony during the recording process. While everything outside was frozen, everything inside started moving again. This feeling is aptly reflected in the lyrics and music of "Panik". The emotions in the songs are still big, but they are no longer heavy. Instead, they feel brighter, lighter, and more energetic compared to those in "Maybe".
In "Panik", skuth tries to sort out his feelings in a laconic, honest, lost, yet stylish way. The songs are not whiny, but instead, they resonate with a raw, authentic emotion that is relatable to many. The EP is a testament to skuth's growth as an artist, showcasing his ability to transform personal experiences into universal narratives.
"Panik" is a musical journey that compares the feeling to summer after the COVID-19 pandemic. It's a breath of fresh air, a burst of energy, and a testament to the human spirit's resilience and capacity to find joy even in the most challenging times.
