Mysterious Package Leads to Arrests of Suspects in Political Investigation

In a recent development, the Aachen Criminal Police have taken over the investigation of a suspicious package delivery case that occurred last Wednesday, 27th August, in the town of Herzogenrath.

According to a statement from the Aachen Police, transmitted via news aktuell, the package contained illicit substances, including 3.5 kg of cannabis and 500 grams of hashish. The identity of the individuals involved in this incident remains undisclosed at this time.

The case began when a man asked a woman to accept a package on his behalf. However, the man who initially delivered the suspicious package was later unreachable by phone after the package arrival. In a surprising turn of events, the same man later called to say he would pick up the package.

Following the opening of the package by the Aachen Police, in consultation with the public prosecutor's office and a judge, other deployment forces, including civilian federal police officers, surrounded the couple's house.

The 31-year-old man who transported the illicit substances was provisionally arrested and is currently in custody following a court hearing on Saturday, 30th August. The procedure against him was handed over to the court on July 2, 2025, following his arrest by federal police agents at Mainz main station.

It is important to note that the man has no fixed address in Germany. The package that arrived two days later was sent from the man's address in Herzogenrath. The Aachen Police are yet to reveal any further actions taken or investigations ongoing in this case.
