Nation's Israeli Ambassador to the UN Warns of Consequences: "We will recall those who act independently against us."

In an interview with 103FM, Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, discussed the ongoing tension between Israel and France regarding the recognition of a Palestinian state.

Danon expressed concern about the situation, recalling October 8, 2023, as a less favourable time. He acknowledged the presence of pressures against Israel but preferred the current situation where Israel is strong and decisive.

Danon felt that the world only felt sorry for Israel, not actively supporting it. He expressed gratitude towards the Eastern European states for their actions and appreciated the representatives of Ireland, Norway, and Spain for bringing ideas to counter restrictive measures against Israel.

The Ambassador also highlighted the significant role of Eastern European states in preventing restrictive moves against Israel. He mentioned the rehabilitation and future planning of Gaza, but did not specify any involvement of France or the US in this context.

Danon stressed that it is Israel's decision how to respond to these unilateral moves. He warned that those who act against Israel in an uncoordinated way should not expect cooperation afterward.

Danon's comments come in response to France's campaign to promote recognition of a Palestinian state. He expressed appreciation towards Secretary of State Rubio for showing leadership on the matter, and he revealed that he is working closely with the Americans on a daily basis.

The Ambassador did not mention any specific involvement of France or the US in the context of Gaza's rehabilitation and future planning. He also did not express concern about a diplomatic "tsunami." Instead, he warned France that they should not expect to be welcomed into future initiatives or negotiations if they act against Israel.

There is no public information indicating that Israel conducted a diplomatic mission in the Gaza Strip in 2023; instead, Israel has been engaged in a military conflict with Hamas in Gaza since October 2023. The Americans have taken strong stances, such as refusing to issue visas to the Palestinian delegation and on UNIFIL, according to Danon.
