Navigation Aid for Child Safety Age Verification Regulation Compliance, Free to Use
AU10TIX, a leading provider of AI-driven biometric technology, has announced the launch of a free Child Safety Age Assurance Risk and Readiness Assessment. This initiative aims to help businesses navigate the complex landscape of age verification regulations across the globe.
The assessment, which consists of six short questions, is designed to help organizations identify their unique risks and stay compliant without compromising the customer experience. It is particularly useful for businesses operating in jurisdictions with stringent age verification requirements, such as the United States.
In the U.S., federal legislation like the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires parental consent for users under 13, while 19 states enforce mandatory age checks for adult content and gambling platforms. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) also mandates age verification for websites accessed by users under 16.
AU10TIX's solution to this challenge is the Selfie-based Age Estimation solution. This innovative tool accurately estimates age without storing any personal data. It conducts a liveness check and analyzes the selfie using AI models trained on millions of biometric data points. The solution even goes a step further by analysing facial features to estimate age without the need for a government-issued ID.
This solution is not only accurate but also efficient. It requires only a selfie and cuts verification time to just two seconds. By using the Selfie-based Age Estimation solution, businesses can potentially reduce costs by up to 10x and boost completion rates by 27%.
Yair Tal, CEO of AU10TIX, stated that businesses are seeking guidance on balancing security, compliance, and user convenience in the expanding global age-based regulations. To aid in this endeavour, AU10TIX has also released a 13-page Age Assurance Readiness Guide. This guide aims to provide organizations with practical insights on navigating the complex landscape of age verification regulations.
Similar regulations are impacting social media and online services in the UK, EU, and Australia. In recent years, Switzerland has introduced expanded regulations for age verification for online services through a new youth protection law, which will require platforms to reliably check users' ages and is linked to the rollout of an electronic ID system, effective from 2026. However, there is no specific information on similar new regulations in EU countries or Australia comparable to those in the United States.
Upon completion, participants receive a customized Risk Assessment Report. This report outlines key vulnerabilities and practical recommendations for improving compliance.
