James Harden Embraces Kung Fu Culture During Adidas Tour in China
NBA star James Harden recently visited China as part of his Adidas brand, attracting thousands of fans in Guangzhou City. During his stay, Harden took a keen interest in the ancient martial art of kung fu.
Harden, fondly known as "The Big Ticket," was honored with a personal basketball court in Dongchong Town, Nansha, Guangzhou. The court, measuring 94-feet by 50-feet, features a massive mural of the Clippers star.
In an interview, Harden spoke about his experience with kung fu, expressing his fascination with trying to understand the intricacies of the martial art. He believes it would take him several years to perfect it.
During his tour, Harden was also treated to a kung fu lesson. The artist responsible for the basketball court, Yin, is a big fan of Harden and previously created a hand-drawn portrait of the basketball player.
Yin's admiration for Harden was evident as he unveiled the court before the kung fu lesson. Harden found learning from a professional in kung fu to be a unique experience.
Away from the basketball court, Harden was also honored with a 4,700 square foot gift, the details of which were not disclosed in the context of the Adidas tour.
The Clippers' 2025-26 regular season is highly anticipated, following offseason moves that include re-signing Harden, Nicolas Batum, and trades for John Collins and free agent signings of Bradley Beal, Brook Lopez, and Chris Paul.
Whenever Harden makes his yearly summer trip to China, he receives lots of love from the Chinese fans. His visit this year was no exception, as he was met with thousands of enthusiastic fans at a packed mall in Guangzhou City during his Adidas tour.
