Neighbor facing arrest after making threats
Yesterday afternoon, an incident unfolded in the multi-family building on Wörther Straße, Wilhelmstadt. A 61-year-old man found himself at the centre of the events, allegedly pointing a firearm at a 35-year-old woman.
According to reports, the woman was threatened at around 3 PM. She immediately alerted the police, who responded swiftly. A judicial search warrant was issued, and special forces entered the man's apartment. The entry was recorded on video and later reviewed by the investigating unit.
Upon searching the apartment, the special forces discovered two blank-firing weapons, a rendered inoperable additional firearm, ammunition, and a practice hand grenade. The rendered inoperable firearm was found to be a relic from World War II. It is noteworthy that the practice hand grenade was also discovered to be a replica, not a functional explosive device.
The man was taken into custody and sustained facial injuries during the arrest. He was then transported to a hospital for further treatment. The 61-year-old man has since been charged with attempted aggravated assault.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with the focus on any potential accomplices or motives. The identity of the special authority continuing the investigation in Wilhelmstadt has not been specified in the available search results. The seized items will be subject to further forensic analysis.
The woman who was allegedly threatened is currently in safe conditions. The charges were filed by the specialized unit of the Police Directorate 2 (West), and the subsequent investigation was taken over by the same unit.
The public is reminded to report any suspicious activities to the authorities and to maintain peace and order in the community.
