Neighborhood Watch Teams Established: Meet the Four 'Neighborhood Guardians' in Your Local Area

In the heart of South East Hesse, the South East Hesse Police Headquarters, based in Hanau and Großkrotzenburg, is strengthening its presence with the addition of new Local Protection Officers (LPOs). Among these new additions are Stephanie Deißing and Volker Rostig, who have recently joined the team.

Stephanie Deißing, one of the LPOs for Hanau, is a woman dedicated to being close to the people and working together for more security. As a Local Protection Officer, her role is to maintain a citizen-oriented presence in the community, serving as a contact person for all residents and local institutions such as kindergartens, schools, clubs, shops, senior homes, and shelters.

Deißing is responsible for important districts such as Lamboy, Nordwest, Rosenau, Wilhelmsbad, Hohe Tanne, and Mittelbuchen. She mediates special aid offers when necessary and networks with local clubs and institutions to ensure a cohesive and supportive community.

Rostig, on the other hand, is responsible for Hafen, Wolfgang, Steinheim, Kleinauheim, Großauheim, and the community of Großkrotzenberg. Like Deißing, he aims to be a point of contact for citizens' personal concerns and prioritizes citizen-oriented police work, emphasizing personal contact, quick accessibility, and an open ear for concerns.

The LPOs also actively participate in local events and cooperate with municipal authorities on events and traffic concerns. They are also members of local working groups and prevention councils, and support police crime prevention efforts like safe living, youth protection, and victim support.

This reinforcement of LPOs is part of a new security structure being implemented in Hanau and the Main-Kinzig district. Four Local Protection Officers are on duty in Hanau and Großkrotzenburg, with Michael Reußwig and Kai-Uwe Strauß serving as LPOs in Hanau for some time.
