Billy Bob Thornton is making waves in the world of streaming entertainment, starring in two action-packed series that have captured the hearts of audiences.

In "Landman", available on Paramount Plus, Thornton plays Tommy Norris, a petroleum Landman and Operations Vice President at M-Tex Oil. The second season of this gripping drama sees Norris navigating the cut-throat oil industry while juggling the demands of his family life. The cast also includes Demi Moore, Ali Larter, and Sam Elliott, alongside newcomers Guy Burnet and Miriam Silverman.

Filming for the second season is already underway, with a potential premiere date in 2026. The cliff-hanger season one finale has left fans waiting for answers to big questions, such as how Norris will cope with taking over the company after the demise of his boss and what the arrival of Galino (Andy Garcia) means for the future. All episodes of season one are available on Paramount Plus in the US and the UK.

Meanwhile, in "The Gray Man", available on Netflix, Thornton plays Fitzroy, a former recruiter of the Sierra program who shows a fatherly interest in his former protegé, Sierra Six, played by Ryan Gosling. This big-scale action movie, directed by the Russo brothers, features numerous air crashes, explosions, and large-scale fights. Thornton's performance is praised for balancing the noise and action with a quiet decency, making the movie better.

"The Gray Man" has received a 90% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes but a low 45% critic score. Despite the mixed reviews, the film's international settings and high-octane action sequences have made it a popular choice for viewers.

Thornton's roles in both "Landman" and "The Gray Man" showcase his versatility as an actor, taking on complex characters in high-stakes environments. With over 139 million views and currently standing at number eight on Netflix's global top ten of all time, it's clear that audiences are eager for more of Thornton's captivating performances.
