In the heart of Central Massachusetts and Georgia, two Holy Cross students, Thomas Haigh (T.J.) and David Luigs, have created a buzz with their innovative app, Trivflic.

T.J., inspired by a skiing trip, envisioned a way to "gamify sports betting" using trivia questions. This idea led to the birth of Trivflic on November 26th, 2022. Since then, the duo has dedicated over 10,484 hours and 452 days to its development. David, who has written over 700 questions for the app, was particularly excited about the idea, drawing on fond memories of family trivia nights.

The app, dubbed "The Trivia Experience No One Saw Coming," is a gamified social media platform available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. It offers three daily trivia questions, each followed by a GIF. Users can add photos and comment on their friends' answers, making it a fun and interactive experience.

Trivflic made its debut at the 10th annual Shark Tank hosted by HC Launch and the Ciocca Center. The team won first prize for the business ideas in the "Concept Stage." They were supported in their journey by mentors Chris Palmer and Abe Shulman.

The app is currently available for download in the US and Canada due to licensing issues, but plans are underway to release it for Android devices soon. The launch party, held on February 20th, 2023, was a packed event attended by students and local business leaders.

The development team behind Trivflic includes international coding teams from countries such as India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Argentina, Brazil, Turkey, and Germany.

The article, penned by Matt Nickerson '24, the Chief Features Editor and a staff writer, can be found in the "features" section of the Holy Cross website. There are related articles titled "Matt Nickerson '24" and "Matt Nickerson" in the "Profile" section. The specific competition(s) and the nature of the win are not specified in the provided paragraphs, but it is clear that Matt Nickerson '24 is a student entrepreneur who has made a big impact in Holy Cross and Worcester competitions.

In an era where innovation and creativity are highly valued, Trivflic stands out as a testament to the ingenuity and determination of its creators. The app offers a unique blend of trivia, social media, and gaming, promising an engaging and entertaining experience for users. With its successful launch and the promise of future growth, Trivflic is certainly an app to watch.
