New charging system unveiled by BRUSA HyPower, featuring an on-board charger and DC-DC converter, designed for electric vehicles with high power demands.

Phoenix Contact, a leading company in electrical energy conversion systems, has launched the OBC7 and BSC7 product families. These innovative solutions are designed with high performance, durability, and sustainability in mind, catering to the needs of various electric vehicle applications, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and off-road applications.

The BSC7 is a bidirectional supply converter, designed for versatility across automotive applications. It boasts a compact footprint of 56 x 196 x 272 mm and weighs under four kilograms, making it an ideal choice for space-constrained vehicles. The BSC7 is compatible with 400 V and 800 V high-voltage battery architectures, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of electric vehicles.

On the other hand, the OBC7 is a high-performance on-board charger, designed for fast and efficient charging of electric vehicles. It supports charging at up to 19.2 kW for single-phase AC and up to 22 kW for three-phase AC. The OBC7's charging power can be scaled by connecting multiple units in parallel, providing flexibility for vehicles with higher charging requirements.

The OBC7 features galvanic isolation and integrated DC charging management, ensuring safe and efficient charging. It is based on cost-optimized silicon carbide (SiC) technology, which offers improved efficiency and longevity. Similarly, the BSC7 is designed with environmental compatibility and longevity in mind, making it a sustainable choice for electric vehicles.

BRUSA HyPower, the company behind these innovative products, primarily focuses on DC-to-DC converters and on-board charging systems for automotive and stationary applications. Their commitment to quality and innovation is reflected in the OBC7 and BSC7 product families, which have been certified for automotive use.

With the launch of these product families, BRUSA HyPower continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, providing solutions that are not only high-performing but also sustainable and durable. The OBC7 and BSC7 are poised to play a significant role in the future of electric mobility.
