New Chancellor Announced at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle

Stefan Danz has been elected as the new Chancellor of Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle, following the departure of Linda Baasch. The appointment was made by the Academic Senate of the University of Art and was announced by the university.

Danz will take over the administration of the university from October 1st. Prior to his appointment as Chancellor, Danz served as the head of the legal department and deputy chancellor at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, the city where Burg Giebichenstein is also located.

Danz's background is in law, having studied in Jena and Siena, Italy. His training was in carpentry, a fact that adds a unique perspective to his administrative role.

Bettina Erzgraber, the Rector of Burg University, expressed confidence in Danz's ability to contribute to the university's development. She stated, "I am confident that Stefan Danz will bring valuable insights and a fresh approach to his role as Chancellor, and I look forward to working with him to continue the university's success."

The change of Chancellor at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle was also announced. Linda Baasch, the former Chancellor, is set to become the Chancellor at Europa University Flensburg.

Science Minister Armin Willingmann (SPD) was involved in the appointment process, underscoring the importance of the role of Chancellor in the university's administration. The predecessor of Danz as Chancellor was Henryk Gericke.

The Academic Senate of the University of Art elected Danz as Chancellor of Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle. The new Chancellor of Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle is Stefan Danz.
