New Officers Join Wuppertal Police Presidency
A total of 108 new police officers, including 72 newly appointed police commissioners, have joined the Wuppertal Police Presidency. The newcomers, who have successfully completed their training, were welcomed at a ceremony and swearing-in on Monday morning at the Wuppertal Police Presidency.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Tim Kurzbach of Solingen, who spoke on behalf of the mayors of the Bergisch cities. The purpose of the event was to strengthen police presence and operations in the cities of Wuppertal, Remscheid, and Solingen.
Of the 108 new officers, 36 are transferring from other police stations to the Wuppertal Police Presidency. Among them, 14 officers are joining the Crime department, and 3 are joining the Traffic department. The remaining officers will be deployed across various departments within the Wuppertal Police Presidency.
The new officers are starting their first deployment in the three Bergisch cities. It is worth noting that 28 civil servants have joined the Wuppertal Police Authority in the past twelve months, although it is not specified if they are joining the Wuppertal Police Presidency's specific departments.
The police president of the Wuppertal Police Presidium, Markus Röhrl, welcomed the newcomers at the ceremony. The increase in personnel is aimed at enhancing police presence and operations in the cities, ensuring a safer environment for the residents.
This influx of new officers is part of a broader strategy to strengthen police inspections in the mentioned cities, contributing to a more secure and peaceful community. The new officers are expected to make a significant impact in their roles, working diligently to maintain law and order in the cities of Wuppertal, Remscheid, and Solingen.
