New Police Commissioner Appointed in Castrop-Rauxel
Stefan Brode, a seasoned police officer with over two decades of service, has been appointed as the First Police Commissioner (EPHK) of the Castrop-Rauxel police station. Brode, who is currently the duty group leader -B- in the Recklinghausen police station, will take up his new role on May 1, 2025.
Brode joined the police service in 1998 and completed his studies at the HSPV in Gelsenkirchen in 2001. He has served in various capacities across different police headquarters, including Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund, and Recklinghausen. Before his appointment, Brode held positions as shift leader in the police stations in Recklinghausen and Bottrop, and he gained his first leadership experiences as a deputy shift leader from 2011 to 2015.
Friederike Zurhausen, the police president, expressed her confidence in Brode's abilities, stating, "Stefan Brode is a dedicated and experienced officer who will bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Castrop-Rauxel police station."
Brode, who is 47 years old and married with an 8-year-old son, enjoys spending his free time playing football with his son, going to judo, gardening, and cooking. He also prefers to spend his holidays by or on the sea.
EPHK Esther Arnold-Strunz, who is currently leading the Castrop-Rauxel police station, will leave her post and return to Datteln to take over the leadership of the station there. Arnold-Strunz expressed her excitement about Brode's appointment, saying, "I am confident that Stefan Brode will do an excellent job as the First Police Commissioner in Castrop-Rauxel."
