Next week, Dune: Awakening goes on sale for the first time, accompanied by a weekend of unrestricted play, open to all at no cost.

In an effort to address the feedback from its last free weekend event, Funcom, the company behind the popular strategy game "Dune: Awakening", has announced a second free weekend for the game. This time around, players will enjoy fewer restrictions and more freedom to explore the vast world of "Dune: Awakening".

The first free weekend, which took place from September 11 to September 15, allowed players to play as many hours as they wanted, but they were limited to servers with other new players, not those who had already purchased the game. This time, however, players can join the server their friends are playing on, and there are zero restrictions for the free weekend participants.

The free weekend coincides with the release of the highly anticipated Chapter 2 update. This update continues the main story, adds new contracts, armor, and a character re-customization tool. The character re-customization tool is a significant addition, as it allows players to change their looks after starting the game.

The Chapter 2 update and the Lost Harvest DLC will be released a day early, on September 9. The Lost Harvest DLC introduces a standalone storyline and a new vehicle with a 1930s-inspired design.

In addition to the new content, "Dune: Awakening" will also be on sale during the free weekend, with a 20% discount available from September 11 to September 22. Progress made during the free weekend will be saved if the player decides to buy the game.

To celebrate the upcoming events, Funcom has also released a new trailer for the update. Players are encouraged to join the free weekend and experience the exciting new content and improvements in "Dune: Awakening". During the free weekend, players can explore the entire map of "Dune: Awakening", providing an excellent opportunity to delve deep into the game's immersive world.
