Fires Break Out in Freiburg: Criminal Police Investigating
On the morning of August 31, 2025, several fires broke out in the city of Freiburg, causing damage to property and vehicles.
The first incident occurred around 1:00 AM in Hilde-Mangold-Straße, where two parked motorcycles were set on fire, significantly damaging them. The heat from the motorcycle fires affected adjacent parked vehicles as well.
In the Fehrenbachallee, several trash cans were set ablaze, causing damage to the facade of an adjacent building in the Fehrenbachallee and Breisacherstraße. Around 06:00 on the same day, more fires involving trash cans occurred in the area of Escholzstraße and Vogesenstraße. A parked bicycle in the Lehener Straße area also caught fire.
The fires were set by unknown perpetrators, and the Freiburg Criminal Police has taken over the investigation. The Criminal Police is seeking witnesses who can provide information or noticed anything suspicious regarding the fires.
