"Nikola blossoms on May 10th"
The city of Landshut is gearing up for the return of the Nikola Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 10. This annual event, now in its eighth iteration, will take place from 2 PM to approximately 6 PM in front of the AWO Multigenerational House on Ludmillastraße.
The festival is organised by residents of the neighbourhood as part of the federal-state program "Social City Nikola". This year, the city of Landshut will contribute with "Nikola in Transition - 25 Years of Social City Nikola". The Department of Urban Development and Planning will present key projects achieved in urban development, construction, and socio-cultural aspects during the last 25 years.
The Global Acre, the Regional Collective, and the Life Diakonie and Life21 associations, among others, will be present at the festival. Visitors can expect to explore these projects independently along a suggested route.
Mayor Alexander Putz will deliver a greeting at the festival, and the band "Prima! Stadtmusikanten" will provide musical entertainment. St. Nikola Parish, the Kolping Society, and the Landshut St. Peter and Paul food bank will also be represented. The German Association for Transport and Environment (VCD) will participate in the festival, showcasing their initiatives.
The AWO Multigenerational House will also be a significant part of the festival, contributing to the event's lively atmosphere.
The Nikola Festival is a great opportunity for the community to come together, learn about local projects, and enjoy music and food. We look forward to seeing you there!
