Nikola experiences a bloom on May 10th

The bustling streets of Landshut will come alive once again as the eighth edition of the Nikola Festival takes place on Saturday, May 10th, from 2 PM to 6 PM. This community event, organised by dedicated residents as part of the federal-state program "Social City Nikola", promises an afternoon filled with entertainment, education, and celebration.

The festivities will take place in front of the AWO Multi-Generational House on Ludmillastraße, with a variety of participants joining in the celebrations. The city of Landshut will be present, contributing with "Nikola in Transition - 25 Years of Social City Nikola", showcasing key projects achieved in urban development, construction, and socio-cultural aspects over the past 25 years.

Other notable participants include the Pfarrei St. Nikola, Kolpingwerk, Life Diakonie, Life21 associations, the Regional Kollektiv, and the Landshut St. Peter and Paul Table, who will offer various stands or performances. The Verkehrsclub Deutschland (VCD) will also be in attendance.

The AWO Multi-Generational House will join the festival activities, and many of the kindergartens in the quarter will be present as well, offering visitors a glimpse into the vibrant community life. The Nikola Primary School will also participate in the festivities.

Visitors can explore these projects independently along a suggested route at the festival. For those looking for some musical entertainment, the band "Prima! Stadtmusikanten" will provide a lively mix of old hits, jazz standards, bossa nova, gypsy swing, funk, reggae elements, and timeless melodies.

Mayor Alexander Putz will deliver a greeting speech at the festival, welcoming everyone and highlighting the importance of community events such as the Nikola Festival. The name of the graduate of the federal-state program "Soziale Stadt Nikola" who is organising this year's event could not be found in the provided search results.

The Nikola Festival is open to both residents of the neighbourhood and visitors who wish to get to know the area better. It's a fantastic opportunity to experience the rich culture, history, and community spirit of Landshut's Nikola district. So, mark your calendars and join us for a day of fun, learning, and camaraderie at the eighth annual Nikola Festival!
