One of Sloves' most famous creations was the safety messaging for Volvo, which emphasised the Swedish carmaker's commitment to safety and durability. His agency also touted the American pride behind hot dog brand Hebrew National, with slogans like "We answer to a higher authority" and "Uncured since 1905."

Sloves was also responsible for introducing the world to chicken spokesman Frank Perdue, who became synonymous with the brand and helped make it a household name. His work in experiential marketing was groundbreaking, and his agency specialized in this area before operating under the name Merkley and Partners.
