In a series of events that unfolded on the night of August 16, 2025, a 32-year-old man found himself in hot water with the authorities. The incident occurred on Dingelstädter Street in Heiligenstadt, under the jurisdiction of the Northhausen State Police Inspectorate.

The man was charged around 1:40 AM for violating traffic regulations under § 24a StVG, as he was found riding a stolen e-scooter without current insurance coverage. The e-scooter, later identified as stolen, was not legally his, and investigations have revealed that he did not have a written contract for its purchase.

The Northhausen State Police Inspectorate is leading the investigation, with the Eichsfeld Police Inspectorate also involved. The man is being investigated for suspected fencing due to the unlawful acquisition of the e-scooter.

In addition to the traffic violation and the suspected fencing, the man was also found to be under the influence of both drugs and alcohol. A blood sample was taken from him by a doctor for further analysis.

The authorities are yet to find information about the suspected false buyer of the stolen e-scooter on the same date and time.
