Obstruction on Gundelsheim Highway
In the heart of Bamberg City, a significant construction project is underway on Gundelsheimer Street, between Schubert's Court and Karnataka Street. The work, being executed by Bamberg City Utilities, involves the laying of power cables.
The construction work is not limited to Gundelsheimer Street alone; it will also impact Schubert's Court and Karnataka Street. The electrical contractor or utility company specializing in underground electrical installations is responsible for this project.
The closure of Gundelsheimer Street and the affected parts of Schubert's Court is expected to last until approximately October 31, 2025. However, the closure of Schubert's Court will not be continuous but will occur in two separate periods, each lasting for two days.
Pedestrians can pass through the project area at any time, but a detour will be set up during the times Schubert's Court is closed. The surface of Gundelsheimer Street will be restored at the end of the project.
At the beginning of the project, a construction pit will be created. The work will be carried out in several separate sections to minimise disruption. It's important to note that the construction work is due to underground construction, so its visual impact on the street will be minimal.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly during this period. The city appreciates your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve our infrastructure.
