On Friday, August 29, an unfortunate incident occurred in Bochum during a schoolchildren's safety operation. A police officer was slightly injured when an 81-year-old driver struck him. The incident took place around 7:50 AM on Karolinenstraße.

The elderly resident of Herne, who was driving a car at the time, was stopped by a police officer due to a traffic control near house number 30. However, the movement of the 81-year-old's car caused the open door to hit the officer. As a result, the officer was injured and required treatment at the hospital for minor injuries.
