On August 19, 2025, an incident occurred between two cyclists at the intersection of Südwall / Bergstraße in Celle. A 73-year-old cyclist was riding his bike from Südwall towards Kleiner Plan when he was kicked by another cyclist who was coming from Bergstraße.

The senior cyclist fell as a result of the incident and sustained minor injuries. Several passersby rushed to help him immediately. Witnesses of the incident are asked to contact the police in Celle at telephone number 05141-2770.

The identity of the unknown cyclist involved in the incident, who later fled during a chase via the street "Am Heiligen Kreuz," remains unknown. There is no public information revealing their identity.

The unknown cyclist can be described as having come from Bergstraße at high speed and kicking the front wheel of the senior cyclist. After the incident, the unknown cyclist uttered insults towards the fallen man and continued towards Wehlstraße.

In an unfortunate turn of events, the unknown cyclist collided with a parked vehicle after a guest of the nearby restaurant "Blauer Engel" tried to hold him. This collision caused minor damage to the car.

The police investigation is now focusing on bodily harm and insult. For further inquiries, contact Police Inspectorate Celle's Ulrike Trumtrar at telephone number 05141 277-104 or via email at [email protected].

It has also been reported that a couple has come forward, claiming they might have been attacked by the cyclist involved in the incident. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The incident serves as a reminder to all cyclists to maintain safety and respect on the roads. The police encourage anyone witnessing any suspicious or dangerous behaviour to report it immediately.
