The city of Marburg is gearing up for an exciting month-long celebration of movement and community, with the Action Month "Move into Age" taking place from September 1st to October 1st, 2025.

Kicking off the festivities on September 1st, Mayor Dr. Thomas Spies will lead a 3000-step walk, inviting all residents to join and set the tone for the month ahead. The theme for the Action Month is "Movement knows no age," encouraging participation from individuals of all ages and fitness levels.

The detailed program and action calendar can be found on the official website www.bewegt-ins-alter.de. Over 200 offers will be available throughout the month, including sports, lectures, and interactive activities. Whether you're interested in walks, self-defense, yoga, ball sports, gymnastics, Nordic walking, rowing, dragon boat paddling, hiking, or different forms of dancing, there's something for everyone.

One of the highlights of the Action Month is the Generations Dance Festival on October 1st, featuring guided dances, information stands of the Marburg dance scene, and an open dance party. The festival will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony for both the action card and the "Schritte-Challenge," which can be participated in via the "Teamfit" app during the Action Month.

Prof. Dr. Ralf Laging will give a lecture on "Movement knows no age - everyday life as an opportunity" on September 4th at 5 pm at BiP. The Action Month also includes inclusive hiking, moving lunch breaks, and cross-generational "Talk and Walk" events, aiming to promote health maintenance and combat loneliness.

The program offers interactive activities with a prize draw, and the open movement offers of the city of Marburg are part of the Action Month program. Signing up for the University City of Marburg newsletter provides regular updates on important news from the town hall and city life.

The Action Month is organised by the city of Marburg, Marburg clubs, and the volunteer agency Marburg (FAM). The film "Ice Aged" will be shown on September 10th at 5 pm in the Capitol Cinema, adding an extra layer of entertainment to the Action Month.

While the name of the person who will close the Generations Dance Festival on October 1st, 2025, is not yet known, one thing is certain - the Action Month "Move into Age" is set to be a memorable and inclusive celebration of movement and community in Marburg.
