In a significant move to modernize public transportation, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has partnered with various popular apps to enable the online booking of metro tickets. This development marks the first revised pricing for metro tickets in eight years.

Commuters in Delhi can now book their metro tickets via Uber, Google Maps, EaseMyTrip, PhonePe, Rapido, RedBus, NammaYatri, Yatri Railways, Chartr, Tummoc, and even Telegram, thanks to the collaboration with the Open Network for our platformal Commerce (ONDC).

To book a ticket via Uber, users simply need to select the "Metro Tickets" option, enter their origin and destination stations, choose their tickets, and pay via UPI. The QR ticket received in the Uber app can be scanned at the metro gate for easy access.

PhonePe users, on the other hand, can access the "Commute" section, select Metro > Delhi > Book QR Ticket, enter their start and end stations, and pay using their preferred method. They can also recharge Metro Smart Cards through the app by entering the card number and the recharge amount.

Commuters no longer need to download the dedicated Delhi Metro or Noida Metro app for ticket booking, as the new system allows for seamless transactions through these integrated platforms.

The revised pricing structure is as follows: the new minimum fare for 0-2 kilometres is Rs 11, up from the previous Rs 10. For distances between 2-5 kilometres, the fare is now Rs 21, up from Rs 20. The fare for distances between 5 and 12 kilometres has increased to Rs 32 from Rs 30, while the price for up to 21 kilometres is now Rs 43, up from Rs 42. Beyond 32 kilometres, the fare is now Rs 64, up from Rs 60.

For distances between 21 and 32 kilometres, the fare is now Rs 54, up from Rs 52. QR tickets are valid until the end of the same day.

The company that collaborated with the DMRC to enable online booking of metro tickets via mobile apps is Rapido, which allows users to book Delhi Metro tickets directly through the Rapido App.

This innovative step by the DMRC aims to provide a more convenient and accessible commuting experience for the people of Delhi, streamlining the process of booking metro tickets and making it more accessible than ever before.
