Open-air film festival takes place in Bucharest's Titan Park
The Cinema in Aer Liber festival is set to return for its 2025 edition in Bucharest, offering four weeks of free evening screenings in the picturesque Titan Park's Insula Artelor from August 19 to September 14.
This year's festival promises an exciting lineup, featuring a mix of European cinema, festival favourites, acclaimed Romanian productions, and family-friendly animations. The festival's director, John Smith, has ensured quality viewing conditions with professional-grade projection and sound systems.
The opening week will feature a diverse selection of films, including Paolo Sorrentino's Parthenope (2025), Emanuel Pârvu's Trei kilometri până la capătul lumii (2024), Gints Zilbalodis's Flow - A Fearless Cat (2025), Pablo Larraín's Maria (2024), Jacques Audiard's Emilia Pérez (2024), and Dag Johan Haugerud's Dreams (2025).
As the festival draws to a close, visitors can look forward to two premieres: Emmanuel Courcol's comedy The Marching Band and Olivier Assayas's drama Suspended Time. Encore screenings of some audience favourites will also be held during the closing of the festival.
Some other notable films in the lineup include Gilles Lellouche's Iubire fără limite (2025), Bogdan Mureșanu's Anul Nou care n-a fost (2024), Michel Fessler's reimagined Bambi (2025), Andrea Arnold's Bird (2024), Mohammad Rasoulof's Seeds of the Sacred Fig (2025), and a new version of The Count of Monte Cristo (2024).
All screenings at the Cinema in Aer Liber festival are held outdoors, providing a unique and memorable viewing experience. Admission to the festival is free for all visitors, making it an accessible and enjoyable event for everyone.
