Opening Ceremony Holds for Kruppstraße 16's Department of Foreigners, Nationality, and Foreigners Affairs Administration Building

In the heart of the South Quarter, a significant milestone was reached on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, as Mayor Thomas Kufen officially opened a new administration building at Kruppstraße 16. The modern structure, spanning over 17,300 square meters, is now home to the City Integration Centre (KI) and the department of Central Foreigners' Office, Citizenship and Foreigners' Affairs.

The new administration building, rented for a period of 30 years, has been comprehensively renovated and adapted to the requirements of a modern administration. It boasts modern offices, functional equipment, and spacious waiting areas equipped with WLAN hotspots, call monitors, and self-service terminals.

The department of Central Foreigners' Office, Citizenship and Foreigners' Affairs moved into their new premises in May 2025, followed by the City Integration Centre (KI) on an unspecified date. The move was designed to improve working conditions for employees, enabling them to fulfill their tasks responsibly and securely.

Mayor Kufen emphasised the importance of adequate premises and functional equipment, stating that they contribute significantly to the efficiency and security of city services. Visitors will now benefit from a spacious entrance area in the new administration building, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and short distances.

The new administration building can accommodate a total of 453 employees, offering ample space for the growing needs of the city's administration. The search results do not provide the name of the architect who designed the building, but it is clear that the structure is a testament to modern architecture and design.

The opening of the new administration building marks a significant step forward in the city's ongoing efforts to provide efficient and effective services to its residents and visitors. With the City Integration Centre (KI) and the department of Central Foreigners' Office, Citizenship and Foreigners' Affairs now housed in the same building, the city is better equipped to handle the challenges of a diverse and growing population.
