Operation Halts Flotilla

The Müngsten Bridge cable ferry, a popular attraction in Müngsten Bridge Park, will once again be in operation from Tuesday, September 23. The service interruption, which was caused by technical issues and a lack of personnel, has left visitors eagerly awaiting its return.

The cable ferry, operated by Lebenshilfe Solingen and the Wuppertal public transport company (Wuppertaler Stadtwerke), offers tourists a unique experience of crossing the Wupper River below the Müngsten Bridge. The wooden platform, usually propelled by strong hands, has been stationary since its temporary halt.

Sabine Klein, a visitor from Remscheid, was among those looking forward to riding the cable ferry during her weekend visit to the park with her family. However, the cable ferry's standstill forced her to take a detour via Wiesenkotten and use the bridge to continue towards Unterburg.

The cable ferry ride is often considered an adventure by visitors, providing a thrilling experience as it slowly moves from bank to bank. Its resumption is anticipated to once again provide tourists with this unique adventure.

Lebenshilfe, the operators of the ferry, announced the resumption of service, ensuring visitors that the cable ferry will be back to its normal operation starting from Tuesday, September 23.

Visitors who wish to cross the Wupper River are advised to make use of the cable ferry service once it resumes. The Müngsten Bridge cable ferry, with its temporary pause now coming to an end, is set to once again captivate tourists with its operation, accompanied by the amazement it always brings.
