Orioles' Basallo scores first major league home run, with Rogers leading the team to an 11-1 victory over the Giants in MLB action.

The San Francisco Giants faced the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball action on Sunday, with the game taking place in San Francisco.

In the opening inning, Willy Adames homered for the Giants, marking his 25th home run of the season. However, the Orioles responded swiftly, scoring four runs in the third inning against rookie Carson Seymour in his first career start. Jeremiah Jackson and Ryan Mountcastle each hit a two-run homer within a six-pitch span, breaking open the game.

Justin Verlander, pitching for the Giants, aimed for his second consecutive win following a strong performance with 10 strikeouts in his last start. Unfortunately, he was unable to repeat his success, as the Orioles continued to pile on the runs.

Meanwhile, Trevor Rogers pitched seven splendid innings for the Orioles, allowing just two runs. He had his 10th straight start of six-plus innings while allowing two runs or fewer. Shawn Dubin got the final six outs for the Orioles, securing the victory.

The San Francisco Giants have homered in 13 consecutive games, but twenty of Adames' 25 homers this season have been solo shots. In Sunday's game, Adames hit another solo homer in the first inning, but it wasn't enough to keep the Giants in the game.

Samuel Basallo, playing for the Orioles, connected leading off the fifth inning with his first major league home run. Mountcastle also went deep for the Orioles, contributing to their impressive offensive display.

In an unusual move, the Giants used infielder Christian Koss to pitch the ninth inning.

Looking ahead, the Giants' RHP Justin Verlander (2-10, 4.47 ERA) aims to win consecutive starts for the first time this season when he faces Orioles RHP Tomoyuki Sugano (10-6, 4.06) on Sunday. Sugano will be the starting pitcher for the Orioles in their game against the Giants.

The San Francisco Giants will look to bounce back from this lopsided defeat when they face the Baltimore Orioles again in the near future.
