Outdoor Pool Suffers a Pipe Rupture
The Krefeld Bath Center is currently facing a series of unexpected challenges, with the indoor pool closure being the most notable. The closure is due to a pipe burst, and the repair work is set to continue on Thursday.
In a recent statement, Sports Director Markus Schön highlighted the need for renovation, emphasising that the bath center is in need of an overhaul. The duration of the pipe leak repair, however, remains uncertain.
The outdoor pool had to be closed as a result of the pipe burst, and visitors are advised to book their visits online at www.sport.krefeld.de to avoid longer wait times at the cashier or potential entry stoppages.
Legionella bacteria were detected at the indoor pool last week, leading to water samples being taken. The bath center is working diligently to make the indoor pool usable again as soon as possible, and if the closure is prolonged, alternatives will be offered in cooperation with the clubs.
Visitor numbers are limited to a maximum of 800 persons due to safety reasons. The multi-purpose pool, however, remains open.
A specialist company is investigating the cause of the pipe leak, and it has been revealed that the leak is deeper than initially anticipated, requiring larger equipment for the repair.
The situation is unfortunate for schools and clubs, but the administration is soon expected to make a proposal for further action regarding the renovation of the bath center.
In a positive note, the repair of the pipe leak will continue, and the indoor pool will reopen upon approval from the monitoring institute. The bath center is hopeful that these issues will be resolved soon, and the community can return to enjoying its facilities.
However, at the time of writing, there is no specific information available about which company was present on Tuesday at the outdoor pool construction site to investigate the problem and its cause.
