Overcast skies expected in Moscow on the 29th of July

Moscow is bracing itself for a prolonged heatwave, with temperatures expected to soar above 30°C throughout the workweek. The daytime temperature in the region will range between +28°C and +30°C, while nighttime temperatures in the city center will not drop below +20°C.

This extreme heat may lead to a variety of discomforts, including headaches, fatigue, irritability, and blood pressure fluctuations. These symptoms are particularly common in urban environments, and people are advised to take extra care, especially elderly individuals and young children who are more susceptible to heat-related issues.

The atmospheric pressure in the Moscow region is slightly above normal, currently standing at 748 mm Hg, and easterly winds are expected at speeds of 3-8 m/s. Humidity levels will vary, ranging from 45% to 85%, according to the Russian Hydrometeorological Center's website.

Despite the heat, the radiation situation remains quiet, as reported by the Institute of Physics of the Earth named after academician Feodorov. However, solar activity is mostly low, with the possibility of M-class flares. It's worth noting that while direct temperature forecasts are unavailable for the rest of the week, the geomagnetic field is generally stable, with occasional periods of instability.

Overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, July 30, the temperature in Russia's capital will drop to +15°C, providing a brief respite from the heat. The nighttime low in the Moscow region will be +13°C.

As always, it's essential to stay informed and take necessary precautions during extreme weather conditions. Stay hydrated, seek shade when possible, and check on vulnerable neighbours and family members.
