Overnight, Dormagen firefighters successfully contained multiple fire outbreaks from escalating further.

In the night of August 26-27, the Dormagen Fire Department faced multiple fire incidents across the city. The first incident occurred at around 11:30 PM on Am Stellwerk street in Horrem, where a car was on fire. Just a short distance away, another vehicle was on fire in the Zonser street at 11:48 PM.

The Dormagen Fire Department, along with the Mitte fire brigade, quickly responded to both incidents and managed to bring both fires under control. The leader of the Dormagen fire department during these emergency situations was Bernd Eckardt.

Later in the night, at 12:36 AM, the fire department was called to a fire on the outer facade of a business building in Hackenbroich. The fire involved several carts and containers, but thanks to the prompt action of the Dormagen Fire Department, the flames were quickly extinguished, preventing the fire from spreading to the business premises and the apartment above. Emergency services checked the apartment on the upper floor, but no one was injured.

Fire brigades from Hackenbroich, Delhoven, Straberg, and Mitte, as well as the professional fire station and the rescue service, were involved in the incidents. In total, around 30 firefighters were in action during the fire incidents.

By 1:40 AM, the Dormagen Fire Department had completed the final measures and stood down. Despite the multiple fire incidents, no injuries were reported in any of the incidents in Dormagen on August 26-27. The Dormagen Fire Department successfully contained and extinguished all fires throughout the night, demonstrating their commitment to keeping the city safe.
