In a recent development, FedEx Supply Chain will be ending its operations at a Procter & Gamble distribution center located at 635 N. Cool Rd, Lima, Ohio. This decision comes as the consumer goods giant has chosen to switch to a new logistics provider, with Penske Logistics set to take over from October.

This news follows another instance in recent weeks where FedEx Supply Chain has lost business and announced job cuts, with over 600 workers affected at a Cummins Inc. engine parts distribution campus in Memphis, Tennessee, as reported last month.

However, it is important to note that these layoffs are not connected to FedEx's Network 2.0 restructuring of its FedEx Express and FedEx Ground parcel delivery divisions. Affected employees will be paid wages and benefits through Oct. 31, as well as any applicable retirement and insurance benefits.

FedEx Corp., the parent company of FedEx Supply Chain, expects many of its employees who currently work at the Lima facility to be offered jobs by the new logistics vendor.

The exact reasons behind Procter & Gamble's decision to switch logistics providers were not specified in the article.
