Pakistani Siblings Shine at International Taekwondo Championship

The MBW International Taekwondo Championship 2025, held in Malaysia, was a significant event for Pakistani athletes as they showcased their skills on the global stage. The event attracted over 4,200 athletes from 32 countries, but it was the performances of three siblings from Swat, Pakistan, that truly raised the national flag high.

Ayesha Ayaz, Pakistan's youngest taekwondo champion, was a standout performer. She won both a gold and a bronze medal at the tournament, demonstrating her versatility and skill. Ayesha's success is a source of national pride for Pakistan, and her journey has been supported by Hassan Nisar, CEO of Metrix Pakistan, who has continuously encouraged her.

Ayesha's father has been her greatest source of strength, and she expressed her gratitude to Almighty Allah, her father, supporters, and Hassan Nisar for her success. Her younger siblings, Mohammad Zaryab Khan and Gulalai Ayaz, also made a mark at the tournament.

Mohammad Zaryab Khan won a gold medal, while Gulalai Ayaz earned admiration for her courage and determination. She was named Best Fighter of the Tournament and won a bronze medal. This is the first time in Pakistan's history that three siblings have collectively secured four medals at an international taekwondo event.

The siblings' achievement has sparked celebrations in Swat and across the country, seen as a beacon of pride and motivation for the younger generation. With enhanced training facilities and international exposure, Pakistan's athletes could emerge as formidable contenders on the world stage.

However, sports analysts have emphasized the need for greater institutional support for martial arts and other underrepresented sports in Pakistan. Ayesha Ayaz, who has represented Pakistan internationally since childhood and inspires young women to pursue sports at the highest level, is a testament to what can be achieved with the right support.

The success of these young athletes at the MBW International Taekwondo Championship 2025 is a shining example of what can be achieved when talent, determination, and support come together. It is a source of hope for the future of Pakistani sports and a reminder of the potential that lies within our youth.
