PANjab University (PAU) Accepting Applications for Junior Research Fellow Positions in Food Science & Technology, Offering Fellowships of Up to INR 37,000 Per Month
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in Ludhiana has announced a vacancy for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the research scheme "Use of Ultrasound Technologies for Extending Quality and Shelf Life of Whole Wheat-Based Products". This opening is for young researchers to contribute to innovative food processing technologies.
The Department of Food Science and Technology at PAU, supported by the Centre for Advanced Studies in Food Science and Technology, is spearheading this project. The aim is to improve the quality and extend the shelf life of wheat-based products.
The vacancy is for a duration of six months or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. Interested candidates must submit their applications by 15 September 2025. Application forms are available at the Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, Ludhiana, during working hours. Candidates must submit their applications along with a bank draft of Rs 200 and attested copies of relevant certificates.
Candidates for the JRF position with a Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science and Technology, Food Technology (Processing Technology), or Food Processing Technology and NET qualification will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 37,000 plus 16% HRA. Candidates without NET but with the required Master's degree will be eligible for a fellowship of Rs 26,000 plus 16% HRA.
The selection process is scheduled for 23 September 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU. Candidates can contact the department for more information. They are also encouraged to visit the official PAU website for more details.
Ph.D. degree holders in the relevant discipline are also eligible and are exempted from the NET requirement. Candidates must bring original documents to the interview.
It is worth noting that PAU has secured a NABARD-sponsored project to popularize Dragon Fruit Cultivation, but this fact is not directly related to the JRF vacancy.
