"Park Sport Event Hailed as a Complete Triumph" or "Park Sport Event Celebrated as a Complete Victory"
In the heart of Guetersloh, on August 11th, 2025, the tenth edition of "Sports in the Park" captivated over 3,500 sports enthusiasts. The annual event, now a fixed summer holiday highlight for locals, offered a unique outdoor atmosphere and free, low-threshold movement opportunities.
Organisers expressed great delight at the sight of participants engaged in various sports activities, ranging from children's classes like "Family Fit", "Toy Box", and "Play & Sport for Kids" to offerings for all ages in the traditional timings of 10 to 11 AM and 6 to 7 PM, and new sessions for children from 5 to 6 PM. The new children's sessions were popular among families, catering to an earlier time.
Jennifer Jones, a representative of the event, expressed her delight at seeing the fields packed for various events, including those designed for children and adults. She highlighted the importance of volunteers in creating a fun and instructive atmosphere, with Britta Thieme emphasising their role.
The event was supported by program partners Stadtsportverband Guetersloh, Bürgerstiftung Guetersloh, Volksbank in Ostwestfalen eG, Landessportbund NRW, and AOK NordWest. One of the charming stories shared was of a young participant who tried Capoeira for the first time last year and is now teaching his friends in kindergarten.
The slogan "Meet & Move" was successfully implemented, with images of people laughing, sweating, and moving together in the park. The event also introduced the "Most Active Company in Guetersloh County" initiative, where businesses could encourage their employees to participate in sports activities.
However, no search results were found mentioning which companies have registered for the initiative for the year 2025. The collected signatures from the initiative will be evaluated in the coming weeks.
The winning company will receive a tailored health program as a reward. As the event comes to a close, organisers reflect on the success of the day, looking forward to next year's Sports in the Park with anticipation.
